Joseph Masonic Lodge hosts shooting match

Joseph Masonic Lodge is hosting a shooting match fundraiser 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 20, at the Eagle Cap Shooters Association Range on Ant Flat Road north of Enterprise

Every shooter is welcome as an individual or in three-person teams

Entry fee, including lunch, is $40 per person or $110 per team.

There will be awards for the best overall score of rifle and pistol (Top Gun), the best team, first place rifle and pistol and second place rifle and pistol. The Top Gun prize is a Henry .22 caliber rifle donated by Joseph Hardware.

Trophies were donated by Missy’s Uptown Art and other prizes came from Wallowa County Grain Growers, Terminal Gravity, Mad Mary’s, The Sports Corral, Thompson Auto Supply, El Bajio Restaurant, Wallowa County Ace Hardware, Copper Creek Mercantile and Old Town Restaurant.

Entrants should bring a single-action (cowboy) pistol and a centerfire lever action rifle (no scopes or other optic sights) with 20 rounds of ammo for pistol and 25 rounds for rifle. A rifle and pistol along with ammo will be available to borrow.

There will be two sets of pistol targets up to 20 yards. The competitors will have a limited number of shots to knock down the steel targets. There will be three target set-ups for rifle at out to 200 yards.

The competitors will have a limited number of shots to engage these steel targets. The shooter will be scored for hits and there will be at least one timed sequence where quickest time can be used as a tie breaker.
