Q. Why move to Wallowa County?
A. I really got sick of traffic and the rat race, stoplights, people. I’m a people person but there are a lot of rude people on that side. My dad used to take us hunting here, and we love eastern Oregon. I was single, I didn’t have any bills, and I figured if I were willing to work, I’d find work.
Q. What has Wallowa County taught you?
A. It’s definitely taught me to slow down and enjoy more of the natural amenities rather than city amenities. I love being out in the woods. It feels better to breathe here.
Q. Can you recall a book you read as a child that really had an effect on you, and can you recommend a book you’ve read recently?
A. There were Which Way books (“Choose Your Own Adventure”). They were murder mystery books with two different ways you could go and you’d turn to another page and you could choose which way to go. Books I have enjoyed recently are the Rush Limbaugh children’s series books “Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims” and others. They’re great. I’m really impressed on how they educate kids. I buy them and read them and then send them to my nieces and nephews.
