Registration open for Chief Joseph Days events

Participation in these Chief Joseph Days events requires you register advance.

1. The second-annual Chief Joseph Days Little Buckaroo Rodeo for Special Needs Children and Adults will be held 9 a.m. July 26at Harley Tucker Rodeo Grounds in Joseph. Participants of all ages are welcome. Events will include goat tail untying, stick horse barrel race, bouncy horse race, dummy roping, dummy bull riding and horseback rides. Participants also receive a Western hat, t-shirt, bandanna and lariat. Free. Contact Debbie Scudder for details at scudderdeb6@gmail.com or 541-398-2060.

2. The Chief Joseph Days Rodeo Miles for Mammogram Walk in linked to the Tough Enough To Wear Pink campaign. It will be held Friday, July 28. Registration opens at 8 a.m. at the rodeo grounds and the run is 9 a.m. Food, drinks and drawings in the Thunder Room immediately following the walk. Entry Fee is $35. After July 22, $40. Includes t-shirt and a Thursday night rodeo ticket. Registration available online. Info: Debbie at 541-432-1015 or Doris 541-805-8213.

3. The Chief Joseph Days Junior Parade will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 28. through downtown Joseph. Entries will vie for cash prizes in these categories: costumes, wheels, floats, marching and riding. Each entry will receive a coupon for a small ice cream cone at R & R. No licensed motorized vehicles unless operated by the contestant. Entrants must be under age 18. Registration is available online at chiefjosphdays.com or behind Indian Lodge Motel at 9 a.m. the day of the parade.

4. The Chief Joseph Days Grand Parade will trek through downtown Joseph 10 a.m. Saturday, July 29. This year’s theme is “Cowboy Boots and Country Roots.” Entry deadline is July 13. The parade begins at the corner of Third and Lake streets in Joseph. Parade results will be available at Chief Joseph Days Rodeo office at 1 p.m. after the parade. No candy or other objects may be thrown from floats or vehicles; however, entries may hand out candy while walking alongside parade vehicles. Entry forms are available at the Chief Joseph Days Rodeo office in Joseph or online at chiefjosephdays.com.
