Church Calendar: Christmas and New Year’s Eve services in Wallowa County

Candlelight services planned

SUNDAY, DEC. 24

Christmas Eve


Wallowa United Methodist: The congregation will host a candlelight service 5 p.m. The church is on Main St. in Wallowa.

Joseph United Methodist: The congregation will host a candlelight Christmas Eve Service 7 p.m. See Christmas through fresh eyes. Live music and a powerful Christmas message. 301 Lake Street Joseph.

Enterprise Community Congregational: The congregation will have a candlelight service 9 p.m. at the church. The Christmas story will be read from Luke, and there will be special Christmas music. Gail Swart will play the organ and piano. The church is at 301 NE 1st St., Enterprise.

Joseph Baptist: Service with singing, readings and a reception afterward will be 6 p.m. The church is at 107 North Main, Joseph.

Enterprise Christian Church: 5 p.m. the congregation will host a special Christmas Eve service 5 p.m. featuring congregational singing, special music numbers and the reading of the birth narratives from the Bible. The church is at 85035 Joseph Highway, Enterprise.

Lostine Presbyterian: 11 a.m. service featuring carols and community. This is an informal service focused on music and community. A Christmas Eve Candlelight Service will be 7 p.m., featuring scripture reading, carols and special music. The event is a time to explore the Advent of God in our midst and to celebrate the difference He makes. 132 Hwy. 82, Lostine.


SUNDAY DEC. 31

New Year’s Eve


Joseph United Methodist: 10 a.m. the congregation will hold a Health Kit Assembly Party at The Place. With all the disasters this past year, the United Methodist Committee on Relief said that they need “health kits” more than anything. Activities will start with worship at 10 a.m, followed by brunch and the health kit assembly time.

Joseph Baptist: 6 p.m. the congregation will celebrate New Year’s Eve with a special service of singing, “Sing in the New Year.” A reception follows.
