If you’re looking for a way to mark a warm cozy Valentine’s Day this year, Rotary Club of Wallowa County has just the ticket.
The organization will sponsor a night of good food, entertainment and “friendraising” 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, at Joseph Community Center.
The event is designed to showcase the club and its efforts to make a difference in Wallowa County.
“This is not a fundraiser,” said Rotary President Stephen Kliewer. “We simply want to share the Rotary vision and allow our friends and neighbors to have a terrific night out.”
Admission is $15, which includes dinner, door prizes and musical entertainment by members of the club and “A Shot in the Dark,” featuring Diane Daggett, Will Wehinger, Nick Porter and John Raines. There will be plenty of room for dancing.
Chuckwagon Sisters Catering will provide the dinner. A no-host bar is also planned.
A musical presentation by club members, “Love Songs Through the Decades,” will be presented with the audience given the opportunity to select the best performance. The community center will be decorated in Valentine’s Day motif.
Those attending will also have the opportunity to have a Valentine’s Day photo taken for a donation to Rotary.
“Those of us who are part of Rotary believe it’s a wonderful opportunity to serve the community and enjoy the camaraderie,” Kliewer said. “We would like to give everyone a glimpse inside the club in a no-pressure kind of atmosphere.”
Advance tickets will be available at Wallowa Mountain Properties, Enterprise, 309 S. River Street, Suite D. 541-426-3026. They will also be sold at the door.
