Featured readers at the March 2 Fishtrap Fireside are Lynne Curry, Jennifer Hobbs and Andrew Wallace. An open mic follows where the audience can come up to the podium and take a turn.
The event is 7 p.m. Friday, March 2, at Fishtrap, 400 East Grant Street, Enterprise. Free admission and light refreshments provided.
Curry is a freelance food journalist, cookbook author and cooking instructor, food blogger and food photographer who chairs the local chapter of Slow Food USA. She enjoys narrative non-fiction but is currently exploring all forms of writing.
Hobbs grew up on a small farm near Mt. Rainier, spending most of her childhood vacations in Wallowa County. She has been able to merge a lifelong love for both science and writing into work in multimedia, content management, search technology and journalism, and has been playing with short films, theatrical adaptations, photography and poetry for many years. Wallace is not a native, but he has made camp in Wallowa County for a short while. He has no specialties. Sometimes people hire him to tote stuff, haul stuff, drive things, cut things, watch stuff, pound things, rake, shovel, dig there, stand here and hold this. He has published work in his second- grade class holiday cookbook, but he cannot remember his submissions.
Fireside is a free monthly event. Come early, seating is limited.
March Fireside is sponsored by The Bookloft, Red Horse Coffee Traders and is firewood donated by JayZee Lumber.
