Ok Theatre owner Darrell Brann is staging a reunion concert with brother Craig Brann at the OK Theatre on Friday, June 15. The event is fourth of the Countdown to Centennial fundraisers held for the theater’s refurbishment.
Craig Brann is a highly respected jazz studio musician in New York City who makes occasional forays to Wallowa County to visit his brother’s family and perform music.
The duo last performed at a popular 2015 concert at the Rim Rock Inn north of Enterprise. The show focused on blues and some roots music, but the OK concert will reach further afield and give listeners a glimpse of the brothers’ respective musical journeys.
Brann said it’s possible that several music guests will appear to perform as well.
“We’ll probably create an arc to our musical journey as brothers,” Brann said. “The idea is that we’ll be doing some talking about our upbringing for those who aren’t aware of it, and what led us to where we’re at.”
The brothers will first play together as a duo with songs they learned from their father then on to songs they developed on their own.
“Craig will play jazz, and I’ll play whatever I come up with,” Brann said with a laugh.
Following that, the brothers will play with guests, possibly including Meredith Brann, Brann’s daughter.
The OK Theatre is located at 208 W. Main St. in Enterprise. Tickets for the event are $15 and available at The Bookloft and Dollar Stretcher in Enterprise, Joseph Hardware in Joseph and at the door as well as eventbrite.com. Children 10 and under are free.
