They spent their first year of marriage in the Blue River District along the Mackenzie River before ending up in Wallowa County, where Peter worked for the U.S. Forest Service until he retired in 1988.
In 1956, he married Phyllis Pace. In 1976, he started his own full-time saw repair shop.
He grew up in the Wallowa Valley, attending Wallowa High School and graduated with the class of ‘63.
He was a member of the Elks.

Nadine was born in Joseph the daughter of Jesse and Inez (Morgan) Crader.
Kari is preceded in death by her father, Richard Jeffers.
Claudia grew up on a farm near Joseph with her parents and three siblings.
