Pearl Evelyn (Prout) Collinsworth
Feb. 24, 1921 –– Sept. 1, 2017
Pearl Collinsworth, 96, died Sept. 1 at Suttle Care and Retirement in Pendleton where she had lived since October 2012.
She was born in Wallowa and had lived in Wallowa County much of her life.
Her parents were Earl E. and Leilia H. (Ogbourn) Prout. She graduated from Enterprise High School in 1940.
She attended business college and later worked for Bill Ortman as a tax accountant and bookkeeper. She was Enterprise City Recorder 1957-65.
She and her husband Cliff opened the Enterprise Stationery Store in 1962 and operated it until 2006. The original store was at 112 South River and was relocated to Main in the ‘80s.
She was Enterprise Municipal Judge from 1976 until her retirement in 2004.
She married Clifford E. Collinsworth Sept. 24, 1950, at Enterprise Community Church. She was a charter member of Soroptimists Club in 1947 and Emerald Rebecca Lodge. She was a member of Community Church, and she and cliff sang in the choir for many years.
She is preceded in death by husband Cliff; her parents and a sister, Venita R. Smith.
She is survived by nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, at Community Church with private family interment at Enterprise Cemetery.
Memorials in her honor may be made to a charity of choice.
