Robert Gerald Casper

Robert Casper, better known as “Jerry,” died peacefully at home Sept. 16, 2017, in Wallowa at age 83. No funeral services will be held. A celebration of life for the family and friends with military honors was Sept. 30.
Jerry was born March 28, 1934, in Emmett, Idaho. He graduated from Klamath Union High School in Klamath Falls, Ore., in 1952. In 1965, Jerry started the locally owned and operated company Casper Roofing.
He worked until he retired and handed the business over to his son Don in 1998. Jerry and his family have always been very thankful for the community support they always showed by hiring the company.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Jan, to whom he was married for 55 years. He is also survived by three children: Tina and Hugh Duncan of Anchorage, Alaska, Gerald and Betsy Casper of Grass Valley, Ore., and Don and Kathy Casper of Wallowa; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to charity of choice.
