Barbara Callahan-Chappell

April 2, 1932 –– Nov. 25, 2017

Our mother, Barbara (Barbie) Louise Callahan-Chappell, 85, of Spokane, Wash., passed away peacefully Nov. 25, 2017, surrounded by family.

Born April 2, 1932, in Kennewick, Wash., she was the daughter of the late Robert Christensen and Willa Christensen.

Mom had many loves: her family, the outdoors, fishing and hunting, her animals, and of course, her talent as a teacher and artist in many respects of painting, to name a few.

She was a dedicated sports fan to the Mariners, Seahawks and let’s not forget Gonzaga. She had incredible knowledge of history and only mom could ever out talk you until 3 a.m. when you paid her a visit.

Her beautiful life will be forever cherished in the lives of her children. Mom was a great intellect, a strong woman, good friend to many and most of all a wonderful mother. We will all miss her beyond measure. Our hearts are heavy but are smiling as she is at peace.

She is survived by her six children; daughter Connie Williams and husband Willie of Greenacres, Wash.; daughter Chris Morrison-Berger and husband Mike of Maple Valley, Wash.; son Tommie D. Callahan III of Pilot Rock, Ore.; son Robert Callahan of Bullhead, Ariz.; daughter Patty Orcutt and husband Jim of Lewiston, Idaho; son Scott Callahan Sr. of Pilot Rock; five grandchildren, Zachary, Stephanie, Tommie, Scott and Sydney; and four great-grandchildren; Yesenia, Robert, Athena and Aiden. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Tommie Callahan, Jr. and Eugene Chappell and granddaughter Jennifer Prince.

Graveside services were Dec. 2 at Riverview Heights Cemetery in Kennewick. Arrangements are with Mueller’s Chapel of the Falls, Kennewick. The family invites you to sign the tribute wall at muellersfuneralhomes.com.
