Edith “Geanne” Chupp, 86, of Imnaha, passed away at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Walla Walla, Wash. A graveside service will be held noon at the Enterprise Cemetery Saturday, Feb. 3.
Geanne was born May 31, 1931, in Enterprise to Ivan and Josephine Simmons.
She had two children (Naomi and Gary) with her first husband, Mike, who died in 1971. She married Gene Chupp Sept. 19, 1978, and he passed in 2011.
Prior to retirement, Geanne worked on the ranch in Imnaha and was a housewife for many years. She later moved to Walla Walla where she sold real estate and then managed hotels. After retirement, she moved to Imnaha where she and Gene built a house on the ranch.
Geanne loved sewing, spending time with her grandchildren and playing cards with her family and many friends.
Geanne is survived by her daughter Naomi Maiden (Dave) and her son Gary Marks (Vicky).
Geanne is also survived by four grandchildren: Ryan Maiden (Crystal), Katie Knighton (Mark), Michael Marks and Christina Howerton (Drew).
Geanne also had seven great grandchildren: Staci, Emerson, Mack, Cooper, Ray, James and Charlie. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband; Mike Marks, and second husband Gene Chupp.
