Susan Rose Anderson

June 28, 1940 –March 20, 2018

Susan Rose (Sherbet) Anderson, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away at 77. Susan was born in Los Angeles to Malcolm and Lucy Sherbet. She was the second-born in a family of three girls, Lucy Jane and Mary Lou.

She grew up with her family in Hyland Park, Azusa and Rosemead, Calif. She attended Muscatel Junior High School and Rosemead High School. After Graduation she attended nursing school and then worked at Cal Tech.

She married the love of her life Roy Anderson in Rosemead Nov. 27, 1964. They moved back to Oregon to start their life shortly after they were married. In 1972 they adopted their only son, Zane.

Susie throughout her life worked at KeyBank and Citizens Bank in Eugene and Elmira areas and Wallowa Title Company in Enterprise for Jonel Ricker and Marilyn Preston Suarez.

Susie and Roy began their adventure with the “SOWERS,” Servants on Wheels Ever Ready, in 2005. They would travel the country together serving this ministry that they loved so much.

They would always make sure that on their travels they would stop and see family living across the country and stop by the many places Susie researched of both her and Roy’s genealogy that she was so passionate about. Susie was a member of the Berean Baptist Church in Eugene and Enterprise First Baptist Church.

She loved researching family history, gardening with Roy and helping take care of her mother-in-law for over 10 years.

Susie is survived by her husband of 53 years Roy, son Zane amd his wife Jessica and granddaughters Ella, Bethany, and Eva Anderson. Also surviving are a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Lou and Gaylen Huffman of Idabel, Okla.; brothers-in-law and wives, Bill and Alberta Anderson of Corbett, Ore., Carl and Helen Anderson of Grants Pass, Ore., and Paul and Marilyn Anderson of Alvadore, Ore. Also, many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 14, at Enterprise Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Susie’s name to Oregon Right to Life, 4335 River Road N., Keizer, OR 97303.
