Helen Marie Sexton, 75, died due to cancer in Rufus, Ore. She was born on Upper Prairie Creek to Elmer and Marguerite Neiman, and was the youngest of five children.

Helen attended various schools in Wallowa County as her mother’s teaching positions changed. After completing beautician school in Seaside, she moved to The Dalles and married her only love, Paul Sexton.

Helen and Paul had no children; but, they always enjoyed the company of a large-breed dog. Helen enjoyed animals (as evidenced by the sheep, chickens, cats and dogs she shared her home with), and trips to the coast with her dogs.

She owned her own beauty salon in The Dalles for 24 years, being forced to close it a few months ago due to illness. Helen’s ready smile and laughter and caring personality made her many friends and loyal customers over the years.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Don Neiman, sister Irene McNall, niece Debbie Neiman and nephews Harry McNall and Michel Martin McNall. She is survived by her sister Thelma Patton of The Dalles, her brother William Neiman of Enterprise and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held later this month in The Dalles.
