Sept. 23, 1940 –– July 3, 2018
Devoted wife, mom, grandma, great grandma, loyal friend and prayer warrior Lucy Helen Wood went home to be with her Lord and Savior, and join her husband of 59 years, Roger Wood Sr.
She was born in Morgantown, Ind. Her parents lived in the Tigard, Ore., area, and she graduated Tigard High School in 1958. She married in 1959 to Roger Wood from Lake Oswego, and the family lived mostly in Sherwood, Ore., for many years until moving to Joseph in 1980.
They moved to Bend in 1991, then on to Prineville in 2004. In late 2017, she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, She left peacefully in the home of her son and daughter in-law, Jeff and Heather Wood, who provided warm, loving and comforting care for her in Boring, Ore.
She is very much missed and will always be remembered with all the wonderful memories. Her heart was always at the Oregon Coast.
She loved the beach and would spend many days at one of her favorite places close to Lincoln City, Ore. She was a very thoughtful, giving, humble and very private person.
She requested no service or ceremony, but the family is planning a very small gathering among close friends and family in early spring. She leaves behind three sons and their wives, 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren, three siblings and many friends and family members.
One of her favorite verses from the bible was Philippians 4:13: “I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”
She fought a good fight, now she is truly at peace.
