The mighty lady Eagles came roaring out of the starting gate destroying two teams in the process at Arlington High School’s Snowball Tournament. The first game saw the Eagles devastating Glenwood/Kickitat Nov. 30, 50-26.
“It was nice for our girls to get the first-game jitters out of the way and play someone besides ourselves,” said coach Lance Homan. “We came out and outscored our opponents 25-5 in the first quarter and we were able to play our bench for a lot of the game. Everyone played quality minutes.”
Freshman Sabrina Albee led the scoring, pouring in 18 points while senior Alexis Sykora followed close behind with 15 points in the register.
Saturday saw the Eagles annihilate Arlington 47-10 in an obvious mismatch.
No stats were made available for the Arlington game. A Dec. 4 coaching poll voted the Eagles the fourth-ranked team in the state. They next play Jordan Valley on Friday at a Dec. 8-9 tournament at Eastern Oregon University. The ladies will play 19th ranked Crane on Dec. 9.
“I’m super proud of our girls and look forward to what the future holds for this group,” Homan said.
