The Rotary Club of Wallowa County is conducting a drawing for the exclusive right to hunt a mule deer buck on the Zumwalt Prairie Preserve during the first three days of buck season Oct. 2 through 4.

Ninety-nine tickets are being sold at $100 each, proceeds to benefit Wallowa County Project Heartbeat, which places automated external defibrillators throughout the county.

"The limit on ticket sales gives every ticket holder a pretty fair chance to win," Rotary president Bill Finney said.

The winner will get a hunt package including four nights in a B&B, a guide familiar with The Nature Conservancy's Zumwalt preserve, delivery of the deer to a local processor, cutting and wrapping, an additional guided fishing trip and a gift basket.

The package doesn't include a hunt tag. Ticket sales close March 31, with the drawing set for April 7. For info: 541 426-4164.
