CALL FOR BIDS

Wallowa County is seeking bids for the purchase of approximately 20 tons of certified weed free grass, alfalfa, or mixed hay and 100 bales of certified weed free straw for the Wallowa County Vegetation Department. Hay bales should not weigh more than 95 lbs. Hay will be dry, certified free of noxious weeds; and will be inspected before delivery to the Minam Hay Station. The hay will be used for the hay station during the deer and elk seasons starting September 30, 2003, and ending November 16, 2003. Your bids should be submitted on a dollar per ton basis for the hay and a dollar per bale basis for the straw. The hay will be delivered on an as needed basis.

Sealed bids will be received by Sandy Lathrop, Executive Assistant for the Wallowa County Board of Commissioners until 12:00 noon, August 15, 2003. Bids will be opened for review on August 15, 2003, at 12:00 noon and will be considered for award on Monday, August 18, 2003 at 9:00 a.m. Your bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope addressed to the Wallowa County Board of Commissioners, 101 S. River St., Rm. 202, Enterprise, OR 97828, and should be clearly marked on the outside of the envelope "Hay and Straw for the Vegetation Department - to be opened on August 15, 2003 at 12:00 noon." Under Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS 279.029), each bid shall contain a statement as to whether the bidder is a Resident Bidder. No bid will be accepted by facsimile or electronic data interchange.

Wallowa County reserves the right to reject any and all bids not in compliance with all prescribed public bidding procedures and requirements. Wallowa County further reserves the right to reject for good cause any and all bids upon a finding of the agency it is in the public's best interest to do so.

LEGAL NOTICE

The Wallowa County Health Care District Board of Directors will hold its regular board meeting on Monday, July 28, 2003 at 11:30 a.m., in the Human Resource Room at Wallowa Memorial Hospital.

A copy of the board agenda will be available from the office of the Wallowa County Chieftain, KWVR, or the Administrative Offices at Wallowa Memorial Hospital.

This meeting is open to the public.

NOTICE OF BUDGET HEARING

A meeting of the Alder Slope Cemetery Maintenance District will be held on August 6, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. at 305 NW Roberts St., Enterprise, Oregon. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2003 as approved by the Alder Slope Cemetery Maintenance District Budget Committee. A summary of the budget is presented below. A copy of the budget may be inspected or obtained at 64304 Alder Slope Rd., Enterprise, Oregon between the hours of 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. This budget was prepared on a basis of accounting that is consistent with the basis of accounting used during the preceding year.
