WALLOWA COUNTY — The Wallowa Land Trust is hosting two events next weekend, one of which involves art and the other removing fencing, according to a press release from the Wallowa County Chamber of Commerce.

On Saturday, Oct. 16, from 10 a.m. to noon, participants are invited to enjoy the fall colors and capture some of the beauty with art. Art in the Wallowas will be a time to create watercolor postcards, leaf presses and sketches of the natural wonder that are seen outside.

The event will be led by local artist Jenny Klimsza and all skill levels are welcomed.

The event is free and art materials will be provided.

On Sunday, Oct. 17, from 10 a.m. to noon, a fence-removal project will take place as in Joseph.

The work party event will take place on a private, conserved working landscape as an opportunity to give back to the local community and help the ecosystems.

The event is being undertaken because unused wire fencing can be harmful to wildlife like deer and elk.

More details about both events can be found on the events page of the trust’s website at www.wallowalandtrust.org.

Interested participants in either event are asked to RSVP to sarah@wallowalandtrust.org.
