The Maxville Heritage Interpretive Center (MHIC) has opened its annual Amos Marsh Jr. Scholarship competition, and applications are now available.

Six recipients have received Marsh scholarships since the program started in 2008.

“We’ve been so pleased with prior scholarship winners and look forward to this year’s competition,” said Amos LaDon Marsh, chairman of the scholarship committee.

LaDon Marsh is the son of Amos Marsh Jr., a graduate of Wallowa High School who became a professional football player, for whom the scholarship is named.

The committee will award three scholarships to successful applicants.

Application forms are available through Angie Johnson, Wallowa High School, 541-886-2951 or ajohnson@wallowa.k12.or.us

For more information, contact Gwen Trice, MHIC director, 541-886-2951.
