Wilson wins OSU award

Oregon State University has announced the recipients of its outstanding student awards for the 2011-12 academic year.

Ian Wilson, of Lostine, a junior in fisheries and wildlife, was among recipients, winning the Drucilla Shepard Smith Scholastic Award.

The awards honor students who have shown superior academic and community involvement throughout the school year.

Henderson on Dean’s List

Bethany Grace Henderson of Joseph has been named on the Dean’s List for 2012 spring semester at the University of Oregon.

She is a student in the university’s College of Letters Arts & Social Sciences

To achieve this honor, undergraduate students achieved a grade point average of 3.5 GPA on a minimum of 10 graded credits.

Class of ’62 hosts reunion

Friends and families of the Joseph High Class of 1962 are invited to the class’s 50th year reunion at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 21.  Everyone is invited to gather at the Julie Kooch residence at 83349 W. Dorrance Lane between Joseph and Enterprise.

JoHi graduate earns honors

James Perkins, a 2009 graduate of Joseph High School, has been named to Portland Community College’s Presidents’ List for the school’s winter term. That honor signifies that Perkins earned grades in the 3.75 to 4.0 GPA range, thus granting him the highest academic honor a student can earn at PCC.

McKenzie graduates

Meagan May McKenzie, of Wallowa, was awarded credentials in equine training technology and teaching riding during a May 11 commencement ceremony at Central Wyoming College, a two-year community college in Riverton, Wyo.
