Bronze exhibit opens Friday

JOSEPH – “Ingot to Art,” an exhibit celebrating bronze sculpture cast in Wallowa County, opens at the Josephy Center for Art and Culture with a celebration featuring live music, barbecue and a no-host bar.

Doors will open for the exhibit opening at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23. A $5 donation is suggested

Local foundries, including Parks Bronze, Valley Bronze and TW Bronze, will exhibit sculptures cast for a variety of local and regional artists.

Notable artists in the exhibit include Rodd Ambroson, Tim Parks, Steve Parks, Bob Wilfong, Tim Norman, Lisa Arquette, Terri Malec, Dale Dotson and others.

In conjunction with the art show, the Live and Up Front series will feature a discussion of the process of bronze casting Tuesday, Sept. 3, with artist Shelly Curtiss, as well as a history of bronze foundries in Wallowa County with Roger McGee and a patina demonstration by artist Tim Norman.

“Ingot to Art” will be open from Aug. 23-Sept. 14 during Josephy Center gallery hours, Monday through Saturday, from noon to 4 p.m.
