JosephSixteen candidates for Joseph City offices have been invited to participate in a public forum sponsored by the American Association of University Women (AAUW), Wallowa County Branch and Joseph City staff. Twelve candidates for three City Council positions, three mayoral candidates, and a city council member facing a recall vote make up the list of candidates on the ballot and invited to the fourm.
The Joseph Candidate Forum is scheduled Tuesday, Oct. 12, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Joseph Community Center. Heather Tyreman and Evelyn Swart of the local AAUW branch and Noma McDaniel, Joseph city recorder, are planning the agenda for the event. Their goal is to have a large turnout of voters who use the event to get to know the candidates and their positions on important issues in Joseph.
The committee is formulating questionsregarding the future of Joseph, the impact of changing demographics of the population, and land use planning.
EnterpriseEnterprise voters are invited to meet city candidates for Enterprise City Council, Oct. 14, at 7 p.m. in the council room at Enterprise City Hall.
Four mayoral and four council candidates are running for positions on the council.
The council is made up of seven elected volunteers and for them to be able to carry out the business of the city to the best of their ability, it is important for the citizens to be involved. This is a chance for the people if Enterprise to meet and hear from the citizen candidates who desire to be the governing body of the city.
The event is sponsored and hosted by mayor Susan Roberts and she is asking that Enterprise voters give candidates their support by attending.
