Wallowa County has been awarded $4,790 in federal funds under the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program to supplement emergency food and shelter programs in the county.

A local board made up of representatives designated by EF&S will determine how the awarded funds are to be distributed among the emergency food and shelter programs run by local service agencies in the area.

Wallowa County has distributed Emergency Food and Shelter funds previously with Community Connection of Wallowa County participating. This agency provided 9 emergency rent assists, nine emergency shelter nights, and five utility assists this past year.
