The Wallowa County Board of Commissioners and the Wallowa County Weed Board will hold a town hall meeting on weed control. The meeting will discuss the weed problem and control efforts in Wallowa County.

The meeting is set for 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, at Cloverleaf Hall.

“It’s a big problem in the county,” said weed board chairman Mark Porter, who is also watershed stewardship director for Wallowa Resources.

He said that representatives of the many weed control programs in the county will be present to answer questions. Among partners in the ongoing weed fight are the U.S. Forest Service, the Oregon Department of Agriculture, the Tri-County Weed Board, Nature Conservancy and Wallowa Resources.
