In a change to its normal grant cycle, the Wallowa County Cultural Trust Coalition is now accepting grant applications for grants that will awarded this fall for the following year.

Applications for Wallowa County entities may be found online at www.wallowavalleyarts.org/partnership. For 2014 they must be received by Oct. 31, 2013, to be considered. For more information, contact Janet Pulsifer at janet.pulsifer@gmail.com or 541-398-0189.

This past March, following the old cycle, grants totaling $5,800 were given to:

Wallowa Valley Festival of the Arts, glass artist Brent Wydrinski, Joseph Chamber of Commerce, Chief Joseph Days Arbor Committee, Lostine Community Center, Wallowa County FarmersÂ’ Market, Lumiere Players, Wallowa Valley Land Trust, MidValley Theatre, Josephy Center for the Arts, and Oddfellows.

The WCCTC and the Oregon Cultural Trust are funded by cultural tax credits and can be claimed by anyone who pays Oregon state income tax.

Make a donation to any cultural nonprofit in Oregon, then match that gift with a donation to the Oregon Cultural Trust. At tax time, the donor will get the entire match back. Since 2002 over $11 million has been given away from these donations. To find out more about the trust, visit www.culturaltrust.org..
