Dance teams from Enterprise and Wallowa High Schools participated in the popular 'Hearts In Motion' competition held Saturday at Pendleton High School. Judged by people from professional dance studios, Enterprise placed fourth and Wallowa sixth in their classification.

EHS team captain Chandy Courtney was singled out by the judges for a 'super sensational dancer' award.

Enterprise team coach Di Holt said that both local schools participated against schools of many sizes with 10 or less dancers in their group. Among the schools they competed against were Estacada, Vale, Grant Union and Elgin.

The Wallowa dancers were led by dance coaches Cissie Shelton and Jennifer Gibbs. Not all of Wallowa's dancers performed because of basketball committments at the state 1A tournament being held simultaneously in Baker City. The dancers from Wallowa performed at halftimes of the 1A tournament on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, before traveling to Pendleton for the 'Hearts In Motion' competition.

Both schools, performing before an overflow crowd, fielded dance troupes of 10 dancers. Holt and Gibbs were both pleased with the opportunity to perform at the prestigious program.
