Dogs, kids showoff  at 4- H show

A crop of enthusiastic youngsters and their canine partners started off the 2012 Wallowa County Fair at the annual Wallowa County 4-H Dog Show.

The kid-dog combos showed off their teamwork in showmanship, trick dog, costume dog, obedience and agility classes. The events provided entertainment, as well as a pleasing overview of the 4-H dog program at work.

Following is the results of each 4-H dog show class:


First Year Junior – Champion, Jacob Austin; reserve champion, Jacob Falk; blues, Camille Crenshaw, Wesley Johnson and Johnathan Sarbacher.

Junior – Champion, Ashley Wilson; reserve champion, Gracie Carlsen; blue, Madison McDowell.

Intermediate – Champion, Anna Rinehart; reserve, Clair Beck; blue, Whitney Evans.

Trick Dog

Junior – champions, Jacob Austin, Gracie Carlsen; reserve champions, Madison McDowell, Wesley Johnson; blues, Camille Crenshaw, Ashley Wilson.

Intermediate – champion, Anna Rinehart.

Costume Dog

Junior – champions, Jacob Austin, Camille Crenshaw, Ashley Wilson; reserve champions, Gracie Carlsen, Wesley Johnson, Madison McDowell, Johnathan Sarbacher.

Intermediate – champion, Anna Rinehart; reserve champions, Claire Beck, Whitney Evans.


Junior – champions, Gracie Carlsen, Jacob Falk; reserve champion, Madison McDowell; reds, Johnathan Sarbacher, Maddi Tracy, Ashley Wilson, Camille Crenshaw, Wesley Johnson.

Intermediate – champion, Anna Rinehart; reserve champion, Claire Beck; red, Whitney Evans.
