Local caterer Erin Donovan will present two demonstrations Saturday at the Community Farmers Market at Wildflour Bakery and Cafe on Main Street in Joseph. Donovan will use fresh produce and meats from the market to whip up two delicious dishes. Taste samples and recipe cards will be available. The public is invited to attend. Demonstrations will be held at 10 a.m. and again at 11:30 a.m.

Donovan, a life-long devotee of seasonal and local fare, received her cooking training in Seattle before moving to Wallowa County in 1991. "It is my first choice lo use fresh locally grown produce in my cooking. I encourage everyone to enjoy the best food available and I'm grateful we have a local farmers market," Donovan said.

Donovan will be the first of several talented cooks who will host demonstrations throughout the market season.

Organic fruit will be available starting this Saturday. Beth Girtz of Beth's Blooms in Enterprise will be bringing organic produce from Wachli farms of Hermiston. Imnaha apricots will also be available. The market also features local free-range eggs and natural grassfed beef.

The Wallowa County Community Farmers Market is open every Saturday, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. through October 1. WIC Farmers' Market coupons are accepted. Interested vendors or those with questions about the market should contact Bern Gibans at 432-0930 or Colleen Whelan at 432-8080.
