The Enterprise schools hot lunch program has been awarded the Nutrient Standard and Target award for the close control of fat, calories and sugar content in the school menu.

It was the only such program in Oregon to receive the award given out by the Oregon Department of Education.

Sandy Wiedeman, who along with Julie Botts were largely responsible for the award, credited the menu to a Nutri-Kids software program that has been in effect at the school for the past three years.

Weideman said that every hot lunch program in the state was audited by the Department of Education and only Enterprise's program received an award. The school program was awarded a plaque.
