Erica Perin earns spot on Elgin Stampede court

Erica Perin

Erica Dawn Perin, a junior at Enterprise High School, became a member of the 2004 Elgin Stampede Court at tryouts in Elgin last weekend.

The daughter of Ryan Perin and Deena Perin, Erica has been riding since she was 2 years old. She recently changed from her old horse Diamond to a 5-year-old paint gelding named Chance that she trained herself. Erica and Chance has been to the State Fair together for two years in a row.

In addition to 4-H horse activities, Perin is involved in Alpha Beta Phi, FFA, and cheerleading, as well as volleyball and basketball.

She extends a special thanks to Shilo Zacharias and her family for "helping me accomplish my dreams," as well as her family and friends for their support.
