Trent Gaston, charged with murder for the stabbing death of Lawrence Mock on May 10, will not enter a plea on that charge earlier than Nov. 21, the third date set by the Wallowa County Circuit Court to receive that plea.

Charged with murder May 17 by a seven-person grand jury, Gaston, of Enterprise, has watched scheduled plea arraignment dates on July 28 and now Aug. 29 slip away at the joint requests of Wallowa County District Attorney Mona Williams and Gaston’s court-appointed attorney, Janie Burcart, of La Grande.

The legal representatives are seeking more time to prepare for the plea arraignment.

Gaston, then working as a chef at Lear’s Pub & Grill, in Enterprise, was allegedly involved in an after-hours altercation at the eatery during which Mock, of Wallowa, was stabbed to death.

Circuit Court Judge Brian Dretke is scheduled to accept the plea at 10:15 a.m. on that Wednesday morning.
