Herman - Blanchet

Jenny Lane Blanchet and Lawrence Scott Herman were joined in marriage on Aug. 17, 2002, on Mount Howard at Wallowa Lake near Joseph.

The bride is the daughter of Elane Dickenson of Joseph, and the groom is the son of Steve and Carol Herman of Manalapan, N.J. She graduated from Joseph High School in 1994 and from the University of Montana in 1998 in accounting and finance. He graduated from Manalapan High School in 1991 and from the Ohio State University in 1996 in geography.

Officiating at the wedding was Ted Hays, with classical music played by string trio Heather, Rebbecca and Austin Lenahan. Matron of honor was Robin Cummings of Boise, Idaho, and bridesmaids included Jocelyn Hays of Scottsdale, Ariz., Jeanine Gabiola of Boise and Dawn Isakson of Philadelphia, Penn.

The bride was escorted down the aisle by friend Will Roundy of Wallowa. The best man was Mark Herman of East Brunswick, N.J, brother of the groom, and friend of the groom Jason Aves of Columbus, Ohio, was the groomsman. Others in the wedding party were flower girl Jayme Herman, niece of the groom; ring bearer Shane O'Gara, cousin of the bride; and usher Matt Dickenson, brother of the bride.

Guests rode the Wallowa Lake Tramway up the mountain and walked to a valley between the Summit Overlook and Royal Purple Peak to the site of the scenic ceremony. A reception dinner followed at the Joseph Community Center.

Following a honeymoon trip to Kauai, Hawaii, the couple makes their home in Beaverton. The bride has received her certification as a CPA and works for Schrodinger, Inc., in downtown Portland and the groom is working for Nike in the Worldwide Import department in Beaverton.
