The colorful lights of "Jingle Through Joseph" celebration will be turned on by the Joseph business community in unison at 5 p.m. Friday. The illumination of the downtown stores will signal the beginning of the 'Jingle' event, which will include late night shopping (until 8 p.m.) every Friday and Saturday night through the weekend before Christmas.

A new event this year includes a parade of lights through downtown Joseph starting at 5 p.m. Saturday. Everyone is encouraged to stick some lights on a vehicle, tractor, float or wagon and join in. Prizes of $100 for first place, $50 for second and $25 for third will be awarded. Parade sign-up sheets are available around Joseph and should be turned in at Outlaw Restaurant in Joseph.

Holiday music, street side warming fires and hayrides will all be part of Joseph's Friday and Saturday late night activities.

Call "Jingle Through Joseph" co-chairpersons Mary Burns at 432-0547 or Becky Rushton at 432-4321 for more information.
