Operators of the Wallowa Union Scenic Railway have revised the train schedule for July. It includes the Chief Joseph Express (Joseph to Enterprise to Joseph) every Friday, July 13, 20 and 27, at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., and the Two Rivers – Elgin to Minam to Elgin – on the last two Saturdays, July 21 and 28, leaving Elgin at 10 a.m.

Railway officials have delivered the 1905 caboose from Yreka and put it in service on the Elgin train. They are currently transferring two 56-seat passenger cars from California to Elgin. The Budd Rail Diesel Cars (RDC) have been readied for the Joseph train rides.

The first trip to depart from Joseph in several years will do so Friday, July 13, at 10 a.m. A second train will depart that afternoon at 1 p.m. Passengers on the first train will have the option of shopping and dining in Enterprise for three hours and returning to Joseph on the second train.
