ENTERPRISE — More than 40 candidates have filed for election on Tuesday, May 16 for positions on local boards that control everything from schools to fire districts, to cemeteries to health care in Wallowa County.

Most of the races are uncontested, and a few even had no candidates file. The filing deadline was Thursday, March 16, county Clerk Sandy Lathrop reported.
