A group of county residents will gather Nov. 26 to discuss the operation and issues surrounding the Wallowa Food Bank.

The focus group is being convened through the auspices of Oregon Food Bank and Community Connection and is designed to generate feedback predominantly from those who use or qualify to use the service.

Carolina Negron will coordinate the session that is to be held noon to 2 p.m. at Wallowa Senior Center, 204 Second St., Wallowa.

The food bank program provides for low-income households struggling to provide food for their families. Food is received from growers, individuals, stores and other business within the region as well as from Oregon Food Bank and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

“We are looking for people who are low-income and qualify for food assistance who may or may not use the food bank,” Negon said.

Participants will each receive a $10 gift certificate to Safeway.

To reserve a spot, call 541-963-7532, ext. 1103 or email carolina@ccno.org.
