Northeast Oregon Network (NEON) is once again providing free help to people signing up for health insurance during the HealthCare.gov open enrollment period ending Dec. 15.

Individuals making less than $48,240 or families of four with income less than $98,400 may be eligible for tax credits to reduce premium costs through HealthCare.gov.

For those who have plans in the marketplace now, and have gotten letters stating an increase of rates, please note that working with an assister to actively renew and check rates and plans could save them money monthly.

The six-week open enrollment period is the time to choose a health insurance plan if you do not have coverage through a job or another program. If you have existing coverage, this is also a good time to update your information in case anything has changed.

Open enrollment does not apply to the Oregon Health Plan, which has no enrollment period or deadline.

Certified NEON staff can assist consumers enrolling in any health insurance program, whether through HealthCare.gov or the Oregon Health Plan.

Make an appointment for enrollment assistance by contacting Vixen Radford-Wecks at 541-398-2539 or Teresa Aguilera at 541-910-0336.
