Geoffrey Long of Wallowa recently attended the National Youth Leadership Forum on Defense, Intelligence and Diplomacy in Washington, D. C. He was nominated for the forum by the National College Board.

The forum offers young people the opportunity to meet some of the country's top decision makers and exposes them to critical national issues. Scholars must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher to be nominated.

Long, the son of Bobbi Long of Wallowa and Doug Long of Lostine, is a senior at Wallowa High School and has been active in sports, drama and student government programs. He secured the funds to attend the event from family and friends.

Jeff Potter, CEO and President of Frontier Airlines provided the plane ticket. Potter is the son of Dale and Kathy Potter of Enterprise.
