McColgan new Rotary prez

ENTERPRISE – John McColgan of Joseph, owner of Nature & Grace Inc. and co-owner with his wife, Pepper, of Belle Pepper’s bed and breakfast in Joseph, is the new president of the Rotary Club of Wallowa County.

McColgan was installed on Monday evening, June 25, at the club’s annual banquet at the VFW hall in Enterprise. He also is known locally as a singer and actor, having starred as Professor Harold Hill in the MidValley Theatre’s local production of “The Music Man” in April.

He succeeds Anne Taylor, home visiting coordinator for Building Healthy Families.

Other Rotary officers for 2012-13 are Jolene Cox, Enterprise branch manager of Bank of Eastern Oregon, as secretary, and Marilyn Dalton, local manager of the Oregon Employment & Training Consortium, as treasurer.

The club’s new committee chairs are Rich Wandschneider and Kathleen Negus, programs; Fred Casady, club service; Bill Finney and Henry Franz, community service; Bob Crawford and Karen Patton, vocational service; Dick Burch, membership; Judy Allen and Bret Uptmor, international; Ted Hays, sergeant-at-arms; Dave Harman, Rotary Foundation, and Chuck Anderson, publicity.
