Anyone interested in participating in the development of a community garden in Enterprise is encouraged to come to the March 15, 6 p.m., meeting of the Wallowa County Food System Council at the Fishtrap House in Enterprise.

Community Connection has land available and is seeking volunteers willing to lend their time and expertise to organize the garden project. Joshua Russell, from the Northeast Oregon Economic Development District (NEOEDD), will present funding opportunities available for community gardens.

The meeting will begin with a potluck and group discussion on the numerous food system development projects taking place across Wallowa County. Several people attended the recent OSU Small Farms Conference and the Oregon FarmersÂ’ Markets Association annual meeting and have information to share from those events as well.

For more information, contact Joshua Russell at the NEOEDD office at 541-426-3598 or via e-mail at
