Misty River, an all female acoustic quartet who played to a sold-out house in Enterprise two years ago, is returning to the OK Theatre for a concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday. The band will be hosted as a fund-raising event by the local branch of American Association of University Women for its scholarship program.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for adults. They will be available at the door

or can be obtained early at the Bookloft in Enterprise or the Joseph Bookshop. Call 432-4150 for more information.

Misty River, which calls Eugene home, arrange their own material which includes award-winning original songs, traditionals and other favorite songs and tunes from many genres. "Acoustical Americana" is one term they have adopted to describe their musical style.

They are best known for their vocal harmonies which have been described as "stop you in your tracks" and "spine-tingling" in various reviews.

This spring the women made new fans a world away after Misty River was selected to represent the United States at the Shanghai International Musical Festival and played before thousands of Chinese with millions more watching via television.

Misty River's appearance in Enterprise will celebrate the release of its new CD, "Midwinter Songs of Christmas" and the band is expected to perform some selections from that album. Details and reviews about the band can be viewed on their Web site at www.mistyriverband.com.
