Among local Girl Scouts helping with Poppy Day are Aimee Ehmsen, Savannah Gockley, Madison Falk, Mackenzie Gray, Georgetta Falk and Alaya Balance; in the back are troop leader Amanda Gockley and American Legion Auxiliary representatives Grace Gray and Shirley Jennings.

American Legion Auxiliary Wallowa Lake Unit #157, with the assistance of the Enterprise Girl Scout Troop #50118 and the American Legion Post #157, plan to hold their annual Poppy Day Friday, May 22. Poppies will be available at stands at various locations in Joseph and Enterprise.

The poppies are carefully handcrafted by hospitalized veterans and all donations are used exclusively to assist and support veterans and their families.

The poppy also serves to remind the community of the sacrifices and continuing needs of veterans.
