ENTERPRISE – The Soroptimist Thrift Shop, which underwent extensive renovation a year ago, suffered a major hit Friday morning, Dec. 13, when a concealed pipe overhead broke and flooded part of the shop with water.

The shop is located in the downstairs of the historic Odd Fellows Building in Enterprise.

The popular shop will be closed Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 16 and 17, which would have been its last two shopping days before Christmas, because of damage to the ceiling, electrical fixtures and floor.

The Soroptimists planned to close their popular shop, ordinarily open two days a week, for the weeks of Christmas and New Year's Day, anyway, even before the damage. Now no one is sure when it will be able to reopen. It will depend on how fast repairs are made.

Note: An earlier-posted version of this story stated an incorrect date for the flooding. The current version corrects that to Friday, Dec. 13.
