One of Wallowa County's most anticipated entertainments is coming up Wednesday, March 31. The Fourth Annual Soroptimist Fashion Show will be held at 7 p.m. March 31 in the OK Theatre. This year's theme is "Soroptimist Idol" and the event will spoof the famous television show "American Idol."
The 'Idol' actors range in age from grade schoolers to adults from all over the county. All will sing. There will be a host and four judges, plus a guest appearance by previous idol winner. A winner will be declared for the evening and presented with a trophy.
"It will be hilarious," said organizer Dolores Herrera.
As usual all the "fashions" are from the Soroptimist Thrift Shop. Money raised supports scholarships for women returning to school and county high school graduates , field trips for all three school districts, money for the food bank, meals on wheels and senior meals, mammograms - and more.
The community supports the Soroptimist by shopping at the Thrift Store, attending the fashion show , purchasing pie at the Soroptimist booth during county fair and making direct donations. Tickets are available at the Bookloft in Enterprise, Joseph Hardware in Joseph, the Soroptimist Thrift Shop or any Soroptimist member. Adult tickets are $7, students $5, family of four $20 and children younger than five years are free. Please buy tickets in advance.
