Sterling Savings Bank is now collecting school supplies to help out students in Wallowa, Enterprise and Joseph for the new school year.

Suggested donations include 24-count box of crayons, glue sticks, four oz. bottle of glue, #2 pencils, spiral notebooks, 12" rulers, blunt end scissors, large felt tip markers, supply boxes, portfolio folders, pens, three-hole wide rule notebook paper, erasable pen and protractors.

"Our plans are to equally divide the school supplies to Enterprise, Joseph and Wallowa public schools," said Ruby Lathrop, Sterling bank branch manager in Enterprise. "We will contact the schools and personally deliver to each school."

Lathrop said Sterling's has also set up an account to accept cash "We have also set up an account and are accepting cash donations as well," she said. The cash will also be divided equally among the schools to be used for school supplies that are still needed.
