Angela Bombaci of Enterprise spent January studying in Italy through a special program at Linfield College.

Bombaci, a sophomore majoring in mass communication, is the daughter of Rick Bombaci of Enterprise and June and Scott Colony of Lostine. She took the class Sicily: Crossroads of History in Italy.

During the course, students explored the rich history and culture of Sicily, learning about Roman, Byzantine, Arab, Norman, Greek and Spanish influences. The class also visited Rome, Venice, Florence and Pompeii.

Bombaci was one of 196 students participating in on-site study programs through Linfield College's January term, a four-week period of concentrated study in which students enroll in one course.
