Three Wallowa County students were recently named as winners of the Hells Canyon Mule Days create-a-logo art sponsored by the Mule Days committee.

Earning the first-place prize of $100 savings bond was Lacey Hill of Enterprise High School; second place went to Shelane Lee and third place to Chris Rickert, both of Wallowa High School, who won $50 and $25 in savings bonds respectively.

The winners also received Mule Day passes and a Mule Day T-shirt.

Earning honorable mentions were Casey Montgomery and Christina Montgomery, both of Enterprise High School.

The subject of the contest was the history of mules in Wallowa County or artwork that would relate to Hells Canyon Mule Days. Drawings were judged on the basis of originality, theme and overall design. Parts of each winning artwork will be used to create a new logo for the annual event.
