WALLOWA – The Wallowa FFA chapter, which received its charter at last year’s state convention, will be the recipient of the prestigious Superior Chapter Award this year.

Only 10 other chapters in Oregon will receive this award at the state convention, scheduled March 23-26 in Hermiston. Many of the Wallowa FFA members will attend the state event.

In other activities, Wallowa FFA members are planning a banquet on May 3. Tickets will be for sale at the Blonde Strawberry, as well as from members, to those who would like to attend. Prime rib is on the banquet menu.

The chapter took part in a number of FFA Week activities in February, including blue-and-gold dress-up day, and an FFA assembly with Ag Olympic games and prizes. The chapter also held a breakfast for the school board, teachers and Friends of the Wallowa School Foundation to show appreciation for all the support it received in starting up again last school year at Wallowa High School after an absence of 25 years.
