Allen Schnetzky of the Wallowa County Vegetation Department announces that National Awareness Week is Feb. 28-March 4, and would like all Wallowa County residents to be aware that weeds affect everyone in the county.

Residents can help by learn the weeds threatening your home; remove all weed seeds from clothing, pets, vehicle and gear; and report all weed sites.

Three common weeds in the county are leafy spurge, dalmation toad flex and spotted knapweed.
